El pasado 14 de diciembre se abrió al público la exposición Arte americano en la colección Thyssen en el Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, que cerrará el próximo 26 de junio de 2022. La exposición reúne 140 pinturas y esculturas de artistas estadounidenses de los siglos XIX y XX, lo que permite estudiar las diversas tendencias artísticas habidas en EE. UU. durante los dos últimos siglos. Predominan los paisajes, pero también aparecen otros géneros, desde las naturalezas muertas a los retratos.

Aykut Aydogdu (Turquía, 1986) se graduó en Bellas Artes, especialidad Diseño Gráfico. Sus trabajos más valorados son las ilustraciones. Entre sus trabajos más personales hay que citarCosmic Love(2016), una serie de retratos en los que los modelos aparecen ensimismados o en actitud sensual, adornados con esferas que simulan planetas. Llama la atención del espectador la estética surrealista de las ilustraciones.

Charis Tsevis es diseñador gráfico. Se diplomó por la Academia de Artes Gráficas de Múnich (Alemania) y obtuvo el Máster en Diseño Visual por la Escuela Politécnica de Diseño de Milán (Italia). Ha trabajado para Ferrari, Google, IKEA, Nike, PepsiCo y Toyota entre otras empresas de prestigio. Uno de sus trabajos más destacados es The Queen's Gambit (2020), una serie de retratos digitales de la actriz y modelo Anya Taylor-Joy, representada en su papel de Beth Harmon, realizados a partir de símbolos de ajedrez. Se quiere rendir homenaje al ajedrez y a una serie de televisión de éxito.

Stefano Gardel (Milán, Italia, 1980) es fotógrafo. Ha llevado a cabo exposiciones en Italia, EE.UU., Japón y Rusia. Ha ganado los premios Life Framer (2017) y Fine Art Photography (2019). Entre sus trabajos hay que mencionar Manhattan Bliss (2019), una serie fotográfica donde muestra dos realidades edilicias muy distintas de Nueva York, en primer plano las fachadas posteriores de bloques residenciales, que asoman a calles secundarias, y en un segundo plano algunos de los rascacielos del skyline de la ciudad.
